<gamiee> ScottBakula, hi!
<gamiee> https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/openocd/2024-11-22 I recommend you to check logs, karlp mentioned you yesterday.
<gamiee> In relation if it's working, if binary is empty, it still can be that the area you tried to read is protected.
<ScottBakula> oh thanks @gamiee
<Haohmaru> huh, ^ that's more than just a "log", it's a live stream
<Haohmaru> look mom, i'm on TV \o/
<ScottBakula> oh i can't find his chat after : 23:28 <karlp> where did you even find a wrt54g?
<Haohmaru> ScottBakula, notice the calendar in the top-left
<PaulFertser> There's no protection in that CFI parallel flash.
<ScottBakula> yep lol :)
<ScottBakula> @Haohmaru, i directly change the date in the url :) but nothing
<PaulFertser> Also, there's a chance that support for that mips target was subtly broken since then, you can try the old version where the config for that CPU and board was addded, it was certainly working back then.
<gamiee> Haohmaru :D :D :D
<Haohmaru> well, it seems mr karlp has said 1 thing yesterday, and you saw it already
<ScottBakula> @PaulFertser, any idea for a release version working ?
<gamiee> PaulFertser : I have good news. Bouffalo provided me BL702L, so I can add support for it as well (big thanks is going to them)! The TCL configurations are very similar between bl602, bl702 and bl702l, resulting in many code which could be shared. Please, are you aware of any chip which does the same? So far, I found that at91sam9.cfg is then reused in at91sam9g20 and at91sam9g10, so I guess I will inspire from those.
<ScottBakula> i want to say one thing, it's been long time since i've come across such a supportive community, and i'd like to tell you about it because it it's very rich these days!

<ScottBakula> ok let's compile 0.11 release :)
<Haohmaru> i guess you should check which is the first version that implements that thing and try that one
<Haohmaru> 0.11 sounds like yesterday
<Haohmaru> the folks' reaction to your chip sounded like it's stolen from a museum
<ScottBakula> yep 5€ on the marketplace leboncoin.fr because i am in France :)
<ScottBakula> Open On-Chip Debugger 0.11.0 (2024-11-22-10:10)
<ScottBakula> For bug reports, read
<ScottBakula> Licensed under GNU GPL v2
<ScottBakula> i have found a commit from @PaulFertser in 2013 :) --> Date: Mon Dec 30 22:33:43 2013 +0400 , Real-life tested on an RT-N16 and WRT54GL.
<PaulFertser> ScottBakula: just compile that commit, should be easy if you use --disable-werror configure flag.
<ScottBakula> yep PaulFertser i already found this trick to compile 0.11
<PaulFertser> ScottBakula: adding support for that required me disassembling "tjtag" because it wasn't documented how to switch the stupid broadcom into JTAG debugging mode.
<ScottBakula> haha lol, reIng again
<ScottBakula> @PaulFertser, in this release no more cmsis-dap support so can i copy files from this version to the last one ?
<PaulFertser> ScottBakula: it might be not easy. Are you sure you have hidapi dev files installed?
<PaulFertser> ScottBakula: I just checked, CMSIS-DAP for JTAG is supported since v0.9.0-361-ge3ccae3ed
<olerem> heh, i have some dejavu with this BMIPS things :)
<PaulFertser> Long time eh
<PaulFertser> :)
<olerem> i guess, this one was important https://review.openocd.org/c/openocd/+/1936
<olerem> looks like i blanked out all this kind of traumatic memories
<PaulFertser> I tried upgrading my wrt54gl to 32 MiB but something went wrong and and it wasn't reliably booting (mostly not booting) after that. And with 16 MiB it wasn't usable as an AP even though it could do WPA3-PSK.
<olerem> yes, some times it is bette to let some old tech die
<olerem> especiall BMIPS! :)
<olerem> ScottBakula: if i rememmber it correctly, you need to prevent flash content from booting, otherwise it may disable jtag access.
<ScottBakula> olerem, i need to glitch so
<ScottBakula> it could be a good practice, but first let's try to compile v0.9
<olerem> i was shorting the CFI data pins or chip select pins - i do not rememmber
<ScottBakula> i bought some Pcbite probes recently :D
<olerem> they are cool, i use them too
<PaulFertser> ScottBakula: v0.9.0-361-ge3ccae3ed means it was 361 commits _after_ 0.9.0

<olerem> ScottBakula: i have here some ROM/RAM dump collection, may be will be usable for you https://github.com/olerem/bootrom-collection
<ScottBakula> thank you olerem i will take a look at it. Si i am running "Open On-Chip Debugger 0.10.0-dev-00361-ge3ccae3ed (2024-11-22-11:38)" let's see if we have better results

<ScottBakula_> hey is there someone here using a matrix bridge to connect to libera.chat ?
ScottBakula_ is now known as ScottBakula
<PaulFertser> There was but then Matrix devs couldn't manage sane interaction.
<ScottBakula> yep i saw the post regarding the bridge stop
<ScottBakula> but they are also saying that there are some bridges in the wild :)
<PaulFertser> Yes, you can run your own.
<PaulFertser> Like a bridgebot, e.g. matterbridge.
<ScottBakula> i was running znc in the past :)
<PaulFertser> I suggest you do "flash info 0" after trying to reset/halt tricks to see if flash access is working normally.
<PaulFertser> No need to read many data.
