How can I download the entire flash from the MCU and dump it in a hex file ?
<jancoow>
(this is possible in atmel studio; I bet openOCD can do it aswell)

jancoow: dump_image command

And how do I get this in the intel hex format?

jancoow: you can use the regular "objcopy" from binutils to convert between formats.

Hi all, one question. Is possible to flash a microsemi SmartControl2 board with the openocd software? If yes which cfg file should I use?
<PaulFertser>
Guest14: hi. What target MCU does it have?

hello to everyone
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: hi
<{PsycHegR}>
I would like to ask if anyone knows if there is any attempt to make a Nexus JTAG driver for OpenOCD.
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: there were some attempts afaik.
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: at what stage are you? Got any docs or insights?
<{PsycHegR}>
can you share any URL or something? I have an RH850 that i can try some stuff. Currently i found the "Origen" project from NXP. Its a JTAG "driver" and to my surprise it has support for nexus protocol.
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: I only know clever here was talking about it.
<{PsycHegR}>
PaulFertser thank you sir.
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: I suggest you lurk here, probably someone else chimes in.
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: and feel free to share more about your project and motivation.
<{PsycHegR}>
well for now i have 2 ideas. Either i write a nexus openocd driver using the information from the Origen project or i use FTCJTAG dll from FTDI and develop a small piece of software that can send basic Nexus commands to the RH850.
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: the idea is that RaspberryPi has VC4 with similar JTAG, you can try looking around using those keywords too.
<{PsycHegR}>
you mean RPi4?
<PaulFertser>
{PsycHegR}: yes, part of it
