m.lozhnikov: Are you there?
< chopper_inbound[>
I was trying to use std::unordered_map in place of std::map, but unordered_map cannot contain vector as key without hashing.
< chopper_inbound[>
so ultimately time complexity will be almost same for both in this case.
< chopper_inbound[>
What should I do?

Hey rcurtin: How can I build docs of mlpack locallly?
< himanshu_pathak[>
Hey sakshamb189 I was also trying to work on bindings but it is very confusing should How to create seperate bindings for gaussian and linear kernel I will try open a seperate pr after completing my svm
< sakshamb189[m]>
I don't think we have to work on the bindings for now
< sakshamb189[m]>
we should just focus on finishing the core implementation first, because that is still remaning
< himanshu_pathak[>
> I don't think we have to work on the bindings for now
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yup first I will complete the svm
< himanshu_pathak[>
but I can't able to understand the cause of docs build failure
< sakshamb189[m]>
I see that a lot of the other builds are also failing. Can you work on fix those?
< himanshu_pathak[>
> I see that a lot of the other builds are also failing. Can you work on fix those?
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yup they were failing because I added markdown docs and python and julia bindings now they will pass
< himanshu_pathak[>
but not sure docs build
< sakshamb189[m]>
alright I see
< abernauer[m]>
jeffin143: Yeah jobs like that are probably not the best to apply to in my experience.
< himanshu_pathak[>
🤣 Exceptional
< jeffin143[m]>
abernauer : yeah , they should at least do some research before posting
< sakshamb189[m]>
himanshu_pathak: I think we can add the bindings. I'll take a look at the docs build. Have you looked at the console output?
< himanshu_pathak[>
> himanshu_pathak: I think we can add the bindings. I'll take a look at the docs build. Have you looked at the console output?
< himanshu_pathak[>
Not sure for this python and julia bindings were failing when I added. Error was not quite clear something same to docs build
< sakshamb189[m]>
also have you made the changes according to the review?
< himanshu_pathak[>
> also have you made the changes according to the review?
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yup I have added comments as suggested
< sakshamb189[m]>
I don't think you have responded to all the comments though
< sakshamb189[m]>
I think we should try to wrap up the implementation for svm soon
< himanshu_pathak[>
sakshamb189: May be I will look at them again
< sakshamb189[m]>
Also just try to make sure that all the other builds are passing. Is the concentric circle test now working?
< himanshu_pathak[>
> Also just try to make sure that all the other builds are passing. Is the concentric circle test now working?
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yes concentric circle dataset is working
< sakshamb189[m]>
did you add a test for the mnist as well?
< himanshu_pathak[>
I tried Gaussian Kernel
< sakshamb189[m]>
I think we should try running the svm with the entire mnist dataset to check the accuracy we get and compare with other benchmarks.
< himanshu_pathak[>
sakshamb189: yup not full but 4 and 9 giving 0.97 classification error
< sakshamb189[m]>
you mean 0.97 accuracy?
< himanshu_pathak[>
> you mean 0.97 accuracy?
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yes
< himanshu_pathak[>
By mistake said it error
< sakshamb189[m]>
that sounds good :) you can add a test for that as well
< himanshu_pathak[>
> that sounds good :) you can add a test for that as well
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yeah :)
< sakshamb189[m]>
alright bye let's meet tomorrow
< himanshu_pathak[>
Yup good night :)

birm[m]: thank you so much for cleaning up some of the old issues and closing them!
< birm[m]>
Glad to help, even if I don't have time to do anything substantial ;)
< rcurtin>
honestly I think that that *is* a substantial thing... it's really easy for the list of issues, PRs, etc. to get disorganized and forgotten about
