< birm[m]> Friendly reminder to submit a final proposal for GSOC. We can't accept you if you miss the deadline!
< kartikdutt18Gitt> Hey Mritunjay, I am online right now. I also left a comment on your PR on how to go about testing it. Hopefully that makes sense.
< chopper_inbound4> So I think what we can do is use float type matrix for some of the loss functions in the tests while double for some where more than 9 decimal point precision is needed?
< kartikdutt18Gitt> I don't think there would be any function that would need precision to that degree, but yes that's the general idea that I had.
< chopper_inbound4> Ok. I am going to commit the work. Let's see if everything is fine.
< AbishaiEbenezerG> @zoq, i wonder if my application has the same problem
< AbishaiEbenezerG> could you check if you are able to comment?
< AbishaiEbenezerG> I submitted my application on the 25th and there aren't any comments...although i have allowed anyone with the link to comment
< kartikdutt18Gitt> > Ok. I am going to commit the work. Let's see if everything is fine.
< kartikdutt18Gitt> Great, Thanks a lot.

< PranavReddyP16Gi> Hey everyone, another proposal for review here :) I know it's late but it would be really helpful if someone can review it. I really hope someone can review it before the deadline. It's on implementing CPPNs and HyperNEAT. Thank you so much in advance.
< jeffin143[m]> PranavReddyP16 (Gitter): haha before the deadline , 4 hrs to go IG :)
< metahost> 3 hours to submission deadline. :)
< PrinceGuptaGitte> whenever I download by docs as pdf, it loses the image I had in google docs :(
< Saksham[m]> Use cmd/ctrl + P
< Saksham[m]> And save it as a pdf
< Saksham[m]> I faced the same issue but this worked like a charm
< Saksham[m]> Prince Gupta
< jeffin143[m]> Prince Gupta (Gitter) same error
< PrinceGuptaGitte> Thanks, it actually worked randomly on 12th try, I'll keep this in mind though. :)
< jeffin143[m]> Download it as .docx and then print(save as PDF)
< jeffin143[m]> Some issue with gdocs
< rcurtin> I see there are still some proposals that are drafts---be sure to submit your final version before the deadline (2.5 hours) :)
< rcurtin> after the deadline passes, there's nothing that can be done to submit late or change from draft->final, etc.; Google is pretty firm about that
< rcurtin> (like I've said before, mentors can get in touch with students during the review period and get clarifications to the proposal, etc., but to be eligible for the program, the final proposal must be submitted by the deadline)

< PranavReddyP16Gi> @matrixbot Saksham thanks for the ctrl + p tip I wouldn't have thought of that otherwise :)

< bisakh[m]> Guys mine’s got downloaded with no issue. Maybe due to Firefox. BTW congratulations to all for proposal submission 😁
< metahost> PrinceGuptaGitte: Had the same issue on Safari. Chrome fixed it.

< rcurtin> thanks for the proposal submissions everyone! 89 total this year
< jeffin143[m]> :)
< himanshu_pathak[> So many
< himanshu_pathak[> How many slots we generally have every yearrcurtin:
< jeffin143[m]> himanshu_pathak : I guess previous year we had more than this
< himanshu_pathak[> jeffin143: Oh that means we generally get that much applications every year
< rcurtin> himanshu_pathak[: totally depends, usually between 6 and 10?
< rcurtin> but no idea what it will be this year
< rcurtin> usually applications are somewhere between 80 and 110, this year doesn't seem too unusual to me
< himanshu_pathak[> Let's hope for the good. All the best everyone.
< himanshu_pathak[> I thought we will get more apllications because many of the internship got cancelled because of covid-19 situtation. So, many people will apply for gsoc but that's the average no of application.
< rcurtin> I thought so too, but I guess not this time
< kartikdutt18Gitt> Yay!
< SriramSKGitter[m> @himanshu_pathak: I looked around the archives and around 10 get selected every year :)
< PrinceGuptaGitte> And now we enter the anxiety phase of the timeline :)
< himanshu_pathak[> Sriram S K (Gitter): Yeah 6 or 10
< Saksham[m]> All the best to everyone !!!
< SriramSKGitter[m> Maybe they'll increase intake this year, what with COVID increasing interest in GSoC.
< himanshu_pathak[> rcurtin: May be next year we will get more.
< rcurtin> I hope not, I'm already overwhelmed :(
< Saksham[m]> Let's hope they do it this year
< abhisaphire[m]> Let's just hope for the best and stay safe and calm.
< himanshu_pathak[> Sriram S K (Gitter): May be but google may have different priorities we can't say. we can just hope for the best
< himanshu_pathak[> rcurtin: It is quite tough to read that many proposal and select students from them. :(
< chopper_inbound4> IRC gets more active after midnight and I am not a night person :(
< abhisaphire[m]> chopper_inbound (@chopper_inbound:matrix.org): Just because of time differences between countries πŸ˜…
< chopper_inbound4> @abhisaphire:matrix.org: even Indians here are night owls πŸ˜‘
< abhisaphire[m]> @chopper_inbound:matrix.org: surely we are πŸ˜‚
< chopper_inbound4> That's not fair to me :( Am I the only one here of this kind?
< PrinceGuptaGitte> yes especially during this lockdown
< chopper_inbound4> :(
< Param-29Gitter[m> No... I am also not a night owl😬
< chopper_inbound4> Param-29 (Gitter) : πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ. Good luck everyone! I am going to sleep.
< PrinceGuptaGitte> I just saw I had written "First Evaluation" instead of "First evaluation"
< PrinceGuptaGitte> (edited) ... written "First Evaluation" ... => ... written "Fist Evaluation" ...
< PrinceGuptaGitte> > I just saw I had written "Fist Evaluation" instead of "First evaluation"
< PrinceGuptaGitte> Can't believe I did this blunder. Please ignore this error
< Saksham[m]> what's the error there ? xD
< PrinceGuptaGitte> fist and first
< jeffin143[m]> Fist* - Saksham
< jeffin143[m]> Does spelling mistake count ???
< PrinceGuptaGitte> I rechecked 3 times, I can't believe I did it. I'm really sorry.
< jeffin143[m]> I am sure that isn't a big issue :) , we have had many spelling error in our code base , most of my pr have those πŸ˜‚
< PrinceGuptaGitte> Thanks, that is reassuring.
