<maemish_> When you get everything ready for the release, could you before the release update the N900 wiki and if possible add there detailed instructions for how to create the swap (on emmc / sdcard) and if you have other tweaks/tips how to make Leste snappier, f there is a away to overclock to 250 900 or how to take of transitions etc.? Would be highly appreciated.

<freemangordon> Wizzup: cool
<freemangordon> do you want me to push the two other packages to chimaera repo?
<Wizzup> I did
<Wizzup> buZz: want to try dist-upgrade now?
<freemangordon> ah, ok
maemish_ has joined #maemo-leste
rafael2k_ is now known as rafael2k
<buZz> Wizzup: yez! in a bit
<buZz> alright, here goes
<rafael2k> I have an issue with apt-get dist-upgrade
<buZz> whats the issue?
<buZz> i'm at 3% now :P
<rafael2k> E: This installation run will require temporarily removing the essential package hildon-base:arm64 due to a Conflicts/Pre-Depends loop. This is often bad, but if you really want to do it, activate the APT::Force-LoopBreak option.
<rafael2k> E: Reverse conflicts early remove for package 'elogind:arm64' failed
<buZz> arm64? so on pinephone i guess?
<rafael2k> yes
<buZz> hmm, i'm not sure if that hildon-base/elogind issue is related to recent changes
<buZz> ~something changed around it
<rafael2k> apt-get -o APT::Force-LoopBreak=yes dist-upgrade
<rafael2k> lets see
<rafael2k> it seems I killed the boss of the level
<rafael2k> : )
<Wizzup> this only happens if you had consolekit
<Wizzup> which others didn't
<Wizzup> fyi
<buZz> ooo 'error processing package gconf2'
<norayr> rafael2k: thank you for dealing with pp kbd, i also had same problems, and i am somehow unable to figure out/solve/push the fixes. also thank you for the kernel.
<rafael2k> norayr, hey, I'm still trying to create a package for the keymaps!
<buZz> http://paste.debian.net/plain/1273242 <-- seems circular?
<norayr> btw i usually prefer to not use keyboard lately. Because my chargers don't charge the keyboard. I need a pine64 charger to charge it. And it is too big to carry around. So I have just a pinephone usually with me, it's flat and convenient. Plus a power bank.
<rafael2k> but at least with layout pp and variant altgr the keyboard can be used...
<rafael2k> norayr, I'm using my old samsung changer
<rafael2k> it definitelly does not give more than 5V
<buZz> gconf2 depends on default-dbus-session-bus | dbus-session-bus; however: Package dbus-x11 which provides default-dbus-session-bus is not configured yet.
<buZz> :D
<norayr> but then there are onscreen kbd problems of course.
<buZz> maybe i should do dbus-x11 first by hand
<norayr> rafael2k: good that samsung charger is able to charge it. how much watt does it provide?
<rafael2k> norayr, lemme check
<buZz> Wizzup: any ideas? :)
<rafael2k> ppkb-i2c-charger-ctl info
<rafael2k> norayr, this I check to see if it is charging
<Wizzup> 14:50 < buZz> ooo 'error processing package gconf2'
<rafael2k> I read sometimes you need to press the button for it to start charging (I never really pressed that button)
<Wizzup> this is in the backlog I think
<Wizzup> maybe search fori t
* buZz searches
<rafael2k> norayr, 10W, 2A @ 5V
<rafael2k> norayr, never ever let it completely discharges... this is how my first hw kbd died
<norayr> hmmm, 2A chargers don't charge it for me. :/
<Wizzup> 23:58 < Wizzup> sicelo: I had this the other day, I search logs and rafael said to remove dbus-x11 and then to install it again by force
<Wizzup> 23:58 < Wizzup> I did this with dpkg
<Wizzup> 23:58 < Wizzup> (installing the cached .deb)
<buZz> 1671472029 <norayr> i did dpkg --configure gconf2, it failed, then i tried to dpkg --configure libgconf-2-4, it also failed, but now apt-get -f install goes.
<buZz> ah, different one
<rafael2k> norayr, it also mentions 1.67A @ 9V
<norayr> their wiki says it requires 3.5A if i remember correctly.
<norayr> rafael2k: thank you! will install it in when i have time today. ooor, whenn you add it to the repos?
norayr has left #maemo-leste [Disconnected: closed]
<rafael2k> then, ppkb-i2c-flasher -e i2c -i fw-user.bin write reset
<buZz> Wizzup: alright, i had to dpkg -i dbus_bla -and- dpkg -i dbus-x11_bla
<buZz> then apt-get -f install would function for the gconf2
<rafael2k> btw, if anyway have some spare time... I need with with this package... I dunno why it does not go tru, and I get no error in CI chatbot either
<rafael2k> *anyone
<rafael2k> then we need to add the xkb and tty kbd maps somewhere too
<rafael2k> then we can say we support the pp kbd better than anyone else! : )
<sicelo> tmlind: Wizzup: just pinging in case it gets hidden in other piles of mail - pavel has sent a patch for cpcap battery. who knows ... might work
<buZz> sicelo: ooo , link to the patch? i wonder what changed :)
<freemangordon> are you kidding me? "Your message to Maemo-Leste awaits moderator approval"
<freemangordon> "Too many recipients to the message"
<freemangordon> sicelo: just replied
<freemangordon> that's why the "moderator approval" :)
<buZz> > battery discharding
* buZz giggles
<buZz> this looks very cool!
<buZz> the 'toggles' matches my finding
<buZz> i wonder whats ment by > 2) My charger is detected as "USB", not as "AC"
<sicelo> i guess he expects it to be power_supply/ac/... instead of power_supply/usb/
<buZz> i dont understand how that would affect 'battery life is very poor' though
<Wizzup> I spoke with him about this on fosdem
<rafael2k> added an item on configuring the pp kbd here: https://leste.maemo.org/PinePhone#PinePhone_Keyboard
<buZz> still dist-upgrading , 20%
<Wizzup> oh, yeah, this takes a while
<Wizzup> try doing dist-upgrade of debian on an old hdd :)
<rafael2k> hey, is Maemo Chimaera ready for release?
<rafael2k> : )
<buZz> almost!
<rafael2k> cool!
<buZz> rafael2k: you can try a dist-upgrade? :P
<rafael2k> sure
<rafael2k> I already have my chimaera up-to-date
<rafael2k> 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
<Wizzup> buZz: ftr we don't really 'support' dist-upgrade as much, but it ought to work at least :)
<Wizzup> and yes, I think this weekend we can do the release
<buZz> :) cool
* buZz 29%
<buZz> Wizzup: we dont really support anything, do we? :P
<rafael2k> yay!

<buZz> hmmz, libpython3 seems to be having a hard time, /me tries some dkpg -i
<nela> freemangordon: I tried upgrading and it still said that hildon-meta was held back, trying to manually install hildon-connectivity-rtcom complains about osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr0 and osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr not being installable
<nela> sorry but I had a really busy last couple days
arno11_ has left #maemo-leste [#maemo-leste]
<buZz> dpkg -i libmpdec* < fixed the python3 issue for me
<buZz> hmmz, maybe not
<nela> should I just force install osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr0 from the beowulf non devel repo? it sounds odd that the non devel repo doesn't have it
<nela> s/non devel/devel
<buZz> keep hitting 'Package python3 is not configured yet.' from gconf2's configure
<buZz> yet, dpkg-reconfigure python3.9 finishes with no issues
<buZz> dpkg-reconfigure python3 gives 'python3 is broken or not fully installed'
<buZz> oooo python3_3.9bla
<buZz> derp

<freemangordon> Wizzup: ^^^?
<nela> not from the devel repo, only from the regular one
<freemangordon> ah
<freemangordon> nela: just enable -devel repos
<nela> so have both devel and not?

<buZz> also, adding 'calendar home widget' back to screen deletes all other widgets, and doesnt add a calendar widget :(
<buZz> calendar works fine itself though
<buZz> radicale broke on some config file though btw, i'll just redo the sync setup
<Wizzup> buZz: yeah syncevo broke for me
<Wizzup> let me know if redoing it works
<buZz> chromium gives a black window, terminal is complaining about missing libglslcompiler.so
<buZz> or eh 'couldn't load' anyway
<buZz> i guess libglslcompiler is part of the driver? i see it on https://git.ti.com/cgit/graphics/omap5-sgx-ddk-um-linux/tree/targetfs/ti335x/lib?h=ti-img-sgx/thud/1.17.4948957

Pali has quit [Quit: Pali]
<buZz> its ok, just going around, most stuff seems to work as-is , nice
<Wizzup> buZz: the syncevo is my biggest bug atm
<Wizzup> as in imo
<Wizzup> I need to file a bug with them, the config fails with some weird xml paprse fail
<buZz> hmhm, something about wrong scheme
<buZz> good point, i'll try to get syncevo going
<Wizzup> they have a semi active mailing list
<Wizzup> maybe you can paste the steps that used to work on the old version, and share some debug info with them
<buZz> yeah i'll just try setting up sync from nothing
<buZz> i dont remember making a xml by hand, so something automagic made it i assume
<buZz> Wizzup: ok, that leads to the same xml crashes
<buZz> Fatal: fieldlist '' not defined for fieldmap at line 3500 col 6
<buZz> [ERROR] internal error, invalid XML configuration (with datastores):
<buZz> Fatal error 20010, no valid configuration could be read from XML file
<Wizzup> buZz: yes, if you can mail their list with this, maybe we can get this started
<buZz> i'm just not sure what the issue is, where is this xml coming from?
<buZz> ah > Synthesis engine configured via XML, generated by SyncEvolution on-the-fly from its own config and XML fragments on disk (/usr/share/syncevolution/xml)
<Wizzup> I think you can start with the instructions, say it worked before, that it's a m-l build, and that the new steps don't work with the new version
<Wizzup> and paste the error, they will then ask for logs and such
<Wizzup> (I hope)(
<buZz> right right
<buZz> was just browsing through their list to see if there was anything similar

<norayr> it is so cool.
<norayr> btw that time i also brought to live original shermans aquarium dockapp for windowmaker. i enjoy it every day on my desktop. it even has tetris game in it.
<buZz> :D doesnt it take a lot of power?
