I have an rk3588-based SBC (nanopi r6c). I want to output sound with its i2s output. The thing which receives i2s is completely separate (i.e there's no "codec" that Linux knows about). How do I achieve this?
<mort>
I have enabled i2s1_8ch in the devicetree but that's the easy part hehe
<CounterPillow>
What's on the other end of the i2s? That's the codec even if it doesn't call itself that

It's a separate DSP processing thing. It doesn't expose any controls what so ever which Linux is supposed to care about, it should literally just receive PCM data via I2S.

the hardware design of the system is such that the Linux computer shouldn't care about the codec at all, it just outputs I2S
