minute: the patches Cristian worked on never had support for the second hdmi controller. He is focussing on getting any graphical output working upstream before getting lost in details like audio, CEC, 8K, second controller, ...

and as you can see the driver went from 3000 loc to 900. As I said the idea is to strip down the unused/untested features to make review easy and get something upstream ASAP.

If you need all the features in some non-mainline fork, you can also look into forward porting the original vendor driver. Panthor (the open source Mali GPU driver) was developed like that originally.
