Hi, I have RPI 4/8 GB. My current LE version 10.0.2 installation (an upgrade from 9.2.8) is on RPI 3B+ on the SD card. Can I simply exchange the SD card and insert it into RPI 4 and will it work? Or is it better to reinstall LE with version 10.0.2 onto the new SD card and I'd like to somehow restore the GUI settings from the previous installation?

yang: why not just make an image of your SD as backup, and try it? Rewrite your card with the backup image if it doesn't work like you want.

<mack>
otherwise, there is a Backup utility in LE settings if you want to backup and restore to a clean install. Or you can move /storage/.kodi/userdata. As you say, clean up old addons
<yang>
hi mack
<yang>
Right, I could try making an image of the SD card.
<yang>
mack: is there a "proper way" about making a copy to preserve all data?
<diederik>
why do you do 'touch'? I'd guess that 'LE-20220507.img.xz' is a LibreELEC image that you downloaded. And then with the xzcat command you write that to a SDcard which is plugged in with a device identified by /dev/sdd
<yang>
I need to do just the opposite
<yang>
then the manual isn't the right one
<yang>
I want to write from SD card into the image file...
