according to https://libreelec.tv/2021/08/26/libreelec-matrix-10-0/ one can setup the resolution by supplying a video= parameter to the kernel cmdline.txt - but what is the correct syntax? The example given e.g. 1920x1080M@60D does not work for me (my goal is to get 4k working) on a pi4
<Misotauros>
I can actually set 3840x2160@30 but the whole screen will be displayed in the upper left corner of the whole panel
<Misotauros>
with 1/4 of the size screen
<Misotauros>
that is, when I do not supply a video parameter to the kernel

Misotauros: from that same document in Known Issues: "Kodi runs in 4096x2160 instead of 3840x2160 on 4k TVs after fresh installation
<mack>
Solution: Change resolution in system settings (1920x1080 50 or 60Hz plus setting up whitelist and enabling “Adjust display refresh rate” in player settings is recommended)"

mack, that is not a solution regarding getting 4k to work. Somehow however I have been able to get 3840x2160 to work @30 Hz.
<mack>
sorry, sounded to me exactly like what was happening from your description.
<Misotauros>
and setting the video parameters to e.g. full hd (1920x1080) wont give any video output recognized by the tv
<mack>
Misotauros: seems weird for a TV to not cope with a 1080 signal. Most switch automatically or upscale everything not 4k, afaik.
<Misotauros>
I think the video parameter of the kernel does something strange. I tried different resolutions.. none worked.

hello
<Nazarov>
can someone answer my question ?
<Nazarov>
I have an Android box with a S905W proc
<Nazarov>
Dual boot
<Nazarov>
Is it safe to update it with the latest Corlelec CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.2-Matrix_rc3.tar

Nazarov: This is #libreelec, not coreelec, but I treat all updates as unsafe. Have a working backup and plan for recovery if update goes bad :)
<Nazarov>
well, thanks for the answer.
<Nazarov>
I'll do a backup
<Nazarov>
.
<Nazarov>
Coreelec = libreelec ...
<mack>
the folks who make coreelec and libreelec would disagree :)
<Nazarov>
no sectarism, I had this IRC link from CE :)
