I am having an issue I have a Pi3B+ with a LibreElec install that is perfect, and I want to migrate to a Pi4 because well 4K and better performance. I have installed the same version of LibreElec on both 9.2.6, I created a backup on the old 3B+ and moved it to the new 4 for restore, and when I do it appears nothing has changed. Is the backup and restore feature under system working in that version? Where do I start to
<Pilot7000hr>
troubleshoot?
<MrTAP>
Did you install the pi4 version of 9.2.6 or the pi2/3 version?
<Pilot7000hr>
MrTAP, Nope it was the Pi4, for some reason on the third try it worked
<Pilot7000hr>
*shrug*
<Pilot7000hr>
Now all i need is the 4k TV to make it worth the effort LOL, oh well Christmas is coming!
<MrTAP>
Huh. Well I'd suggest the nightly version anyway to get even better benefits out of it at the risk of some occasional glitches
<MrTAP>
I run nightly and quite happy with it
<Pilot7000hr>
Well now that I have everything moved over I am doing all the updates to bring it up to speed. Though I use SMB to access my Library and MySQL for the Library so I usually upgrade cautiously.
<MrTAP>
Gotcha. Some of the prime benefits are better HDR support and high bitrate audio
<MrTAP>
If you don't have the equipment then might as well play it safe
<Pilot7000hr>
Yeah I need a new Surround Sound Tuner and a new 4K TV, which is not happening till next year cause well COVID....
<Pilot7000hr>
So I can wait for stable
<Pilot7000hr>
Ugh just updated to 9.97.1 and.... it all broke again :|
<MrTAP>
D'oh
<Pilot7000hr>

Yup When I got to the 10.0 tree it breaks :( I think it is an SMB problem, I would submit a bug report but I am not sure how nor what to to do :|
<mack>
Pilot7000hr: the upgrade to the 10 tree is not really supported due to many things that can break. Fresh install :) Posted several times on front page of libreelec.tv
<mack>
"** DO NOT UPGRADE! ** Yes, we mean that. The team are super keen for you to run the latest LibreELEC release but we recommend you clean install not upgrade an existing installation"
<Pilot7000hr>
mack, Ah ok thanks
<Pilot7000hr>
I am happy on the 9 tree, I just missed the GIANT obvious message LOL
<k-man>
also iirc, they don't recommend you run the newer version on older rpi's
<MrTAP>
pi4 is pretty recent
