mx08: weird.. it stopped working for me as well...
<dnkl>
... because the compositor isn't sending any key events to foot
<dnkl>
mx08: which compositor are you using?
<dnkl>
mx08: fwiw, "libinput debug-events" doesn't register anything when i press 'x' while holding ctrl+shift.
<dnkl>
it does register the ctrl and shift presses, but not the final 'x'
<dnkl>
hmm, I might be mis-remembering... might be this combo never worked on my laptop. In my case, I think it's a (physical) keyboard issue. The combo works if I use the right control key instead of the left one (which I've remapped to caps-lock, so really it's caps-lock+shift+x that doesn't work for me)
<dnkl>
regarding clashing bindings, foot sees and handles shortcuts *before* sending them to the shell (or whatever application is currently running in the terminal)
<dnkl>
i.e. it'd be bash's key bindings that stops working, not foots)
<dnkl>
but if you have bound the same combo in your compositor, then it's foot that'll never see it
<dnkl>
and if the above isn't enough... kitty, which uses the same key bindings for prev/next prompt, also does not work here

dnkl: btw, I really appreciate your release announcement emails (I'm working on adding the new releases of tllist and foot into gentoo rn), but it'd probably be preferable to not send them to all of proxy-maint@gentoo.org

Arsen: I use the emails picked up by repology.org. Is there any way to get a better email address registered there? if not, I can try to manually replace the address with something else.
<Arsen>
oh, repology
<Arsen>
hm, maybe we can work something out with them to filter out proxy-maint
<Arsen>
btw, no need to replace it, just omit it (you explicitly email me too, and I'm on that list
<Arsen>
)
<dnkl>
ah, ok. I'll try to remember doing that. Would be nice if repology could drop it though...
<sochotnicky>
btw while developed by Fedora folks, this seems like a decent way to monitor releases across packages: https://release-monitoring.org/
<Arsen>
I'll see if something can be done about that, tanks!
<Arsen>
thanks*
<sochotnicky>
We need an ASCII tank! Stat!
<sochotnicky>
Arsen: thanks for maintaining foot et al in Gentoo repos btw...

<dnkl>
don't go so far as sending tanks to the repology team š
