<davidlt[m]> As expected.
<davidlt[m]> Do you track memory consumption on it?

<alexsaezm> <davidlt[m]> "Also you bumped version, but..." <- I can "de bump" it :)
<rwmjones> (gcc is still going .....)
<rwmjones> no
<davidlt[m]> Did you get RPMs and have the time ⏲️ measurements?
<rwmjones> GCC is still going, I'll get the time when it finishes :-)
<rwmjones> it's still doing stuff

<rwmjones> a whole lotta LTO going on with this gcc build ...

<rwmjones> (no swapping however)

<davidlt[m]> Yup, but it's nice know it's not swapping.
<davidlt[m]> I have some hope that TH1520 with OoO could bump that single thread perf for LTO (and other things too).
<davidlt[m]> A lot of things are also compressed on a single thread process.
<davidlt[m]> Actually running compression on riscv64 even with 4 thread is very slow :)
<davidlt[m]> I wouldn't be against something Intel-style. A few large cores and tons of small ones.
<davidlt[m]> IIRC Arrow Lake was suppose to have 32 E cores according to rumours on their best die.
<davidlt[m]> Well, chip, it's multi-die thing.
<rwmjones> looks like that Sipeed LicheePi 4A is going to be delivered soon
<rwmjones> (TH1520)
<davidlt[m]> Well that's fast :)
<davidlt[m]> Definitely not by boat ⛵️
<rwmjones> I don't have tracking yet, so not sure how it's coming
<rwmjones> btw we're building ocaml 5 in Fedora right now
<rwmjones> it doesn't yet have a native code backend (coming in 5.1 apparently)
<rwmjones> so it'll use bytecode for the time being
<davidlt[m]> OCaml?
<rwmjones> yup

<sorear> wasn’t there a port in 201x? did it just take a long time to get mergeable/merged?
<rwmjones> sorear: is this about ocaml? yes there was, but
<rwmjones> there are large changes to the compiler architecture in 5.0
<rwmjones> and the riscv64, s390x & ppc64le backends have not been ported across yet
<rwmjones> (only aarch64 & x86-64)
<rwmjones> this will apparently all be fixed in 5.1, but we're going with 5.0 for Fedora 39
