<davidlt[m]> Ouch
rwmjones|HOL is now known as rwmjones
<PrathamPatel[m]> Quick question, are there any extensions that are yet to be ratified? Like "crypto extensions are missing"
<davidlt[m]> <PrathamPatel[m]> "Quick question, are there any..." <- There is plenty of those. Anything specific?
<davidlt[m]> RVi (RISC-V International) has tons of things constantly cooking (train model).
<davidlt[m]> It's never ending thing.
<davidlt[m]> There is ~130 or so extensions already.
<davidlt[m]> s/is/are/
<davidlt[m]> Vector Crypto is not ratified, but should be this year (it's part of RVA23).
<davidlt[m]> There are almost 50 extensions in the pipeline right now.
<davidlt[m]> Within ~25 projects/packages/specifications.
<davidlt[m]> There are another 12 or so non-ISA related specifications cooking too.
<davidlt[m]> Things like IOMMU, IOPMP, AP-TEE, OS-A SSE, Platform Runtime Services, RAS, etc.
<davidlt[m]> Fun fact.
<davidlt[m]> RISC-V Profiles got ratified. 10 hours ago: https://github.com/riscv/riscv-profiles/releases/tag/v1.0

<davidlt[m]> Conan Kudo: I looked at ffmpeg and why it fails to compile on RISCV. It looks like someone removed riscv headers from -free tarball, and thus it's just broken. Could you regenerate ffmepg source tarball?
<davidlt[m]> Out of 4 specific "riscv" directories somehow only 1 has the headers.
<davidlt[m]> ./ffmpeg-6.0/libavcodec/riscv
<davidlt[m]> ./ffmpeg-6.0/tests/checkasm/riscv
<davidlt[m]> ./ffmpeg-6.0/libavutil/riscv
<davidlt[m]> ./ffmpeg-6.0/libswscale/riscv
<davidlt[m]> libavcodec seems to have the headers, but I didn't check each one.
<davidlt[m]> and removed headers (didn't check all of them) are GPL stuff.

<davidlt[m]> Conan Kudo: could you spin a new Koji build (even a scratch one would be fine). That way I could just pick it up/
<Eighth_Doctor> I'm kicking off a build in rawhide now
* davidlt[m] back in a couple of minutes, rebooting
<Eighth_Doctor> do you need me to also pull this back to F38?
<davidlt[m]> Yes, I need that in F38.
<davidlt[m]> I am still "mass rebuilding" F38 and ffmpeg now seems to come up a lot of as a missing dependency.

<PrathamPatel[m]> <davidlt[m]> "There is plenty of those..." <- Nothing specific. I was just wondering what extensions are absent from currently ratified extensions that are present in other ISAs.
<Eighth_Doctor> davidlt: update submitted and needs karma now: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-93383eea3d

<davidlt[m]> FYI, I am trying to generate F38 disto repo and the 1st disk image (will fail, but I need to figure out what's failing).
<davidlt[m]> There will be folks that will notice a newer repository, but some things might be broken on it.
<davidlt[m]> amd ffmpeg is still building :)
<davidlt[m]> actually it's already writing out the RPMs.
