<ppetrov^> hey guys, i made myself a port that builds and packages the kernel, in case someone is interested (I did not want to compile a kernel on my ancient x230 thikpad): https://github.com/slackalaxy/crux-ports/tree/main/zone/kernel-modular
<ppetrov^> it uses the modular config (thanks for this to hoever contributed it)
<SiFuh> You are welcome
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: no make mrproper or make clean?
<SiFuh> Around line 21
<ppetrov^> hmm, well no. Should I? I basically followed the steps from the wiki
<ppetrov^> I have make clean at line 31
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: I wrote a program for building the kernel called ckut.
<SiFuh> Yep
<ppetrov^> "SYSLINUX_LOCATION="/boot""
<ppetrov^> no grub? :P
<SiFuh> Have grub
<SiFuh> It detects if you are using syslinux, grub or lilo
<ppetrov^> ah, cool
<SiFuh> It also detects if you have lynx installed, if not no worries
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: I wish your port existed when I installed the CRUX on the slow machine I have :-P
<ppetrov^> well... i had to urgently revive my lappy... I already had packages, but the kernel was a problem and i did not want to build on one machine then copy the build folder over ssh... so package it is

<mnkydeth> wow, I didn't realize we had sip in the repo. You guys are awesome! Been about 15yrs since I set it up but I think I do currently have an axvoice account I could try on it.
<mnkydeth> long, long ways down the road of projects though.

<farkuhar> mnkydeth: I'm guessing you never tried to prt-get depinst qutebrowser, which if successful would have listed sip among the installed ports in the post-transaction report.
<mnkydeth> I havn't no, I use firefox exclusively.
<mnkydeth> I used to setup asterisk servers back in the day. But I havn't done it in so long it was just some nastolgia from me is all.
<mnkydeth> I did buy a lte 4 modem for the raspberry pi's. I really want to see if I can replace my phone.
<mnkydeth> Just got done repairing and modding a Tandy Coco 3. Kids are playing the Sega Genesis on the 36" crt tv and I'm trying to get a couple of these pi4 compute modules setup for distcc now. :)
<mnkydeth> I still havn't got the 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4ghz controller working on my Crux install though. Maybe I should focus on that.
