SiFuh: another curiosity. Why do the openjdk developers keep rearranging the lib directory from one release to the next? http://ix.io/4fPr
<SiFuh>
I have always used the latest and then had to F* around with S* to make it work because CRUX wants something old like version 8
<SiFuh>
But I had a feeling is was something stupid
<farkuhar>
some of that is genuinely new functionality, of course, but at least one file (libjli.so) seems to have been moved into its own subdirectory for no obvious reason.
<farkuhar>
SiFuh: openjdk8 is not a dependency of any port in my enabled repos, but we're still distributing prt-get.aliases with the line 'jdk8-bin: openjdk8'.
<SiFuh>
I have not touched 8 since 3.5
<SiFuh>
As I said, I always chose the highest version
<SiFuh>
I am not sure what version 3.6 is pulling in
<SiFuh>
But I never looked into why there were so many versions
<SiFuh>
Why didn the CRUX guys stick and adapt to the latest version?
<farkuhar>
it's high time we revisit the prt-get.aliases that appears in the ports tree, now that mysql and rust-bin have been dropped. As for openjdk8, maybe it's still required by ports in one of the collections I haven't enabled, but I haven't looked into that possibility yet.
<SiFuh>
Is prt-get.aliases an issue?
<SiFuh>
The reason I mentioned it after seeing the update was because I know OpenBSD has 3 versions 1 11 and 17 if I remember correctly
<SiFuh>
Why did rust-bin get dropped? I never liked it, but I understood why it existed
<farkuhar>
Re: prt-get.aliases, not a big deal, it's just my aesthetic preference to keep our deployed config files consistent with the official ports collection.
<SiFuh>
I configure prt-get.aliases like prt-get.conf gets configured
<farkuhar>
rust-bin got dropped because Romster stopped providing the latest rust releases in a timely manner, iirc. It was too confusing to have rust-bin lagging behind rust in the repos.
<SiFuh>
I see, technically it wasn't Romsters fault

SiFuh: it sounds like they're almost ready to switch over to Gitea, and retire the old services. Did you ever get a chance to look at the database dump of old Flyspray tasks, to see if a Gitea interface could be built for displaying them?
<SiFuh>
DIdn't I ask if there was a way to convert them?
<SiFuh>
I know nothing about Flyspray or Gitea
<SiFuh>
03:26:32 [SiFuh> I don't know anything about gitea or json
