<jclsn> marex: So back at the iio device. You told me to use the iio_readdev command from libiio. What would I use in a C program? The API provided by iio.h seems to be for writing drivers, but the driver and device are already registed. What would I use there?

<jclsn> Currently I am using an analog sensor in my userspace program that is queried every 2ms via the sysfs. The simplest solution for me would be to just exchange this sample with the one of the max30102 sensor, but I guess I am throwing away a lot of performance if I don't use the buffer of the iio device and just get single samples
<jclsn> Ah I already found the libiio C/C++ API description. Will see how far I get

<jclsn> Still unsure if I really need to create a scan_context and device object in C++ or if that is not already done by the driver

<marex> jclsn: the source of iio_readdev is available, just look at what that does
<jclsn> marex: I am already watching this talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_VntEwUe24
<jclsn> I tried using the API before, but took a while to find out that I need to create a local device context. Before I tried a serial device context and that was segfaulting
<jclsn> I should be good now. Thx
