<retrofan90> fix the 333MHz uboot and put it back up to 666 or 800 and stop crippling good hardware!
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> on rk3318
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> and while you're there release the 1.5GHz rk3318 clocks.
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> 3328 doesn't do ####
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> my board has the silkscreen saying it is a 3328 board with a 3318 cpu
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> how the hell does that make any sense?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> and why in sodding hell does the rockchip specs page and wiki not even mention the existence of the damn RK3318 CPU?!?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> WHAT. A. SCAM.
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> why the bloody shit doesn't the cvbs (composite av out) work FFS,,,
<DC-IRC>

<nicod_sbc> I guess he's talking about Rock64.
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> If you don't give any good info then we can only guess what you're talking about. My guess because, Rock64 has different versions with different memory chips. One of these versions is unstable as hell when memory speed is set normal. I've got one of those shitty stupid things. That is why we needed to set lower clocks so it would work on all boards.
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> All is explained on the download page. So if this is what you're talking about. Then do some reading before yelling shit. https://www.armbian.com/rock64/

<lanefu> Rock64 was a mess of a board and there's a reason v2's were available on Amazon and fleabay at firesale prices of like 10 bucks a few years ago

<hajim9527> Is anyone playing with Orange Pi 3B?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> the case and box said 3318, the pcba solkscreen says rk3328 but has an RK3318 CPU and 8 ram chips "micron Tech" D9PQL (4GB) AmPak4334 WIFI+BT4.x
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> Well the RK3318 is a TV box SoC for one
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> It is going to be used almost exclusively for Android boxes
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> what is the difference between rock64 and that one i have?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> the led panel is an FD6551A
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> the chip that is.
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> and the usb 3.0 port on mine doesn't work at all.
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> it used to work on android
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> is there a way to flash android to a bootable sd card instead of the emmc (on mine it fell off)
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> and not have slow spped on the ddr ram
<DC-IRC>
<nottoosmart> good morning, i am trying to do this but i am getting an error message that it conflicts with linux-firmware when using dpkg -i armbian-firmware-full ive tried --force-install and --force-overwrite. should i uninstall linux-firmware first then do the install?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> how do i make my ddr bin set to 800 in armbian?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> instead od 333
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> instead of 333
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> and the cpu needs to have 1.5 GHz Clock like the 3328
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> just a sec...
<DC-IRC>
<spooky8086> I'm sure there is a proper way i'm not aware of, but you can try to force install, it should replace linux-firmware iirc.
<DC-IRC>
<nottoosmart> i kept trying and it just keeps complaining. i found a usb wifi adapter so i will try and see if i can get it to do the install through the network. the wifi adapter connects and gives network but id prefer the faster card i have installed 🙂
<DC-IRC>
<nottoosmart> installing armbian-config through this one is taking 25 mins
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> @retrofan90 Armbian doesn't support this hardware at all. So what you do is on you to find out. There is the tv-box section in the forum, but that's loose from Armbian. Just community. https://forum.armbian.com/forum/24-tv-boxes/
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> We can't help with hardware we don't own and are not interested in that hardware either.
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> @nicod_sbc and your armbian gaming addon won't work with this box in its current setup
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> is there anything else you need?
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> No, go to the tv-box section of the forum and see if there's anyone with better working images for this device.
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> where is the legacy kernel image for this?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> can jammy work with the legacy rockchip kernel?
<DC-IRC>
<spooky8086> yes, but it looks like your board is not supported
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> then what do i use?
<DC-IRC>
<retrofan90> mainline ?
<DC-IRC>
<microlinux> Ohh, a mali 450
<DC-IRC>
<microlinux> Forget about ppsspp on such gpu
<DC-IRC>
<gambl0r> These tv boxes are painful, I just inherited one, an amlogic s912 with 3gb ram and 32gb emmc. It came with android 6, now running a very nice android 9 build but whoever built it used armv7 not arm64
<DC-IRC>
<gambl0r> Android driver support is amazing but the fear of spyware etc runs deep
