<zyp[m]>
jfng: what's the status on the memory map annotations (amaranth-soc#58)? according to the PR it was blocked on amaranth#978 which got merged in May
<zyp[m]>
are the annotation schemas also going to go through the RFC process?
<zyp[m]>
I noticed that RFC #30 says «Changes to schema definitions hosted at https://amaranth-lang.org should follow the RFC process.», and I'm not sure if addition of a new schema counts as a change :)
<whitequark[cis]>
it does
<jfng[m]>
that PR needs to be updated, but it has no blockers otherwise
<jfng[m]>
zyp[m]: what new schema do you have in mind ?
<jfng[m]>
ah you meant the memory map one, i guess
<zyp[m]>
well, all the annotations really, soc#58 adds four of them
<jfng[m]>
yep, i think they can be part of a common RFC, the PR was written in part as a PoC for the component metadata work
<zyp[m]>
I also noticed that it's not legal to connect a CSR bus with a width of 32 to a wishbone bus with a granularity of 8
<zyp[m]>
which kinda seems overly strict, but I can see the rationale
<zyp[m]>
and I suppose the recommended solution would be a gasket to explicitly change the granularity and optionally error on smaller accesses
