marex: my first real job started on a powerquicc on the year of the name change. I was the young guy pretending to use the Freescale name. Now I am the old guy still using the Freescale name. Not sure how I got old given I changed nothing ;-)

calebccff thanks again I have found out. One has to call i2c_get_chip_for_busnum before calling dm_i2c_read. Which I missed. Porbably from there comes null pointer as well as you said.
