<digetx> cyndis: implicit fencing is missing in uapi, I don't think that we can get uapi to upstreamable state without it
<digetx> implicit fencing requires drm scheduler, in order to add scheduler, we should start reorganizing drivers
<digetx> we could start with a minimal reorganization, but still a complete picture is required
<digetx> in order to start the reorganization, we need to agree on how it should look like
<cyndis> i'm on vacation, tagr will handle complaints and inquiries in the meanwhile
<digetx> no complaints from me, sorry if feels like that; I'm now not exactly sure whether we're seeing all the problems the same, it all needs to be clarified

<m4t> latest grate kernel is being weird. hdmi doesn't cause panic, but once plugged in, i just get a blinking cursor (maybe new alpine related?)
<m4t> but the network is offline for a long time, then i get a few ping responses, then it goes offline again
<m4t> ah then it rebooted itself...
<m4t> yeah so it boots, splash changes to blinking underscore, then i get 4 ping responses until it reboots (watchdog timeout?)
<m4t> managed to get it to boot after disconnecting all usb https://paste.ee/p/erG95#46XIrdFb3ktUol0gVL0Db4T77blCT7PC
<m4t> [ 72.009985] watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#2 stuck for 23s! [kworker/2:7:78]
<m4t> maybe it's the rndis gadget
<m4t> yeah so it refuses to boot with usb audio connected. rndis gadget doesn't enumerate at all, either.
<m4t> most recent ramoops: https://paste.ee/p/VgjAA#nLyQtM8hnGeAWoDDw3bfd4NJuT4J0S1P i can plug in usb audio after boot, but as soon as i start the player (squeezelite) it immediately freezes
<m4t> that explains why there's a few pings that come back before squeezelite gets a chance to start and lock up the system
<m4t> digetx: i managed to get pulseaudio working over hdmi though...
<m4t> https://paste.ee/p/KTUIn#3sDUEJO3fF1bOiqW52XwVUQbF280m4Qz shows some pulseaudio/alsa info. going to uninstall the kernel and pulseaudio/dbus now.
