digetx: Hi, I'm currently trying to change the postmarketOS device-port for p4wifi to use the linux-grate package. When I install only the fbykeyboard-ui i got a mess like this image. All graphics are shown two times and overlay each other on the x-axis. They are different from their intended poistion too. You got any idea what could be the reason for this? okias meant you might have a idea.
<DavidHeidelberg>
Btw. Now looking at the picture, it looks little bit like it renders in different orientation and then rotate
<DavidHeidelberg>
* Btw. Now looking at the picture, it looks little bit like it renders in different orientation and then rotate and then it renders a top of it correctly
<DavidHeidelberg>
maxnet do you get landscape mode by default? One thing to test would be try rotate screen
<maxnet[m]>
<DavidHeidelberg "maxnet do you get landscape mode"> Yeah I get landscape by default and rotating the screen doesn't change anything sadly
<DavidHeidelberg>
digetx I think there will be issue with it, since he doesn't have USB working properly with that kernel
<digetx>
why USB not working properly
<maxnet[m]>
<DavidHeidelberg "digetx I think there will be iss"> Yeah, might be possible to add it to the image before flashing it? And then execution might be possible through the fbkeyboard ui
<DavidHeidelberg>
digetx not sure, but I realized he could use pstore to get dmesg from recent boot and then see it on old kernel
<DavidHeidelberg>
maxnet do you have some older working kernel around?
<maxnet[m]>
<DavidHeidelberg "maxnet do you have some older wo"> Sure. Downstream or linux-grate?
<DavidHeidelberg>
grate
<maxnet[m]>
<DavidHeidelberg "grate"> Okay I have to check but I might have yes.
<digetx>
m4t: could you install pulseaudio?
<digetx>
maxnet[m]: you could write it to emmc or sdcard
<m4t>
ok. i don't even have dbus installed.
<DavidHeidelberg>
.. or :) dmesg > dmesg.txt :)
<m4t>
or X11
<digetx>
m4t: thx, I don't know how to manage ucm manually, apparently it can be done using alsaucm
<m4t>
having to figure out how to set it as the default sink via pacmd
<maxnet[m]>
<DavidHeidelberg ".. or :) dmesg > dmesg.txt :)"> Okay I should check for an working grate-kernel with usb and then get dmesg. of it ?
<digetx>
will you be able to check sound playing?
<m4t>
completely froze when i plugged in HDMI
<digetx>
nice
<DavidHeidelberg>
maxnet get into broken kernel, in terminal run dmesg > a.txt; then boot some kernel with working usb and upload it to pastebin, so we can check why USB is broken
<m4t>
haha
<m4t>
i'm rebooting it, maybe i bumped a power cable or something
<maxnet[m]>
<DavidHeidelberg "maxnet get into broken kernel, i"> Ah I see, will give it a try, thanks you two guys. Won't find some time before Sunday, but I'll report when I tried.
<m4t>
i think it's panicking on boot with hdmi plugged in :|
<m4t>
i never get video back after kexec, it never comes online, and the heartbeat led is not blinking
<digetx>
are you using the most recent kernel?
<m4t>
-rw-r--r-- 1 12345 12345 8553359 May 22 20:53 linux-ouya-ouya-5.13-r4.apk
<m4t>
boots fine again with hdmi unplugged. i can try rebuilding and get back to you later
<digetx>
ok, is pstore working on ouya?
<digetx>
maxnet[m]: thx, that image looks like a memory bandwidth issue, the log may clarify it
<m4t>
maybe, it seems to be a hard lockup though so i need to power cycle
<m4t>
it was working
<digetx>
hard lockup should happen only if clk is disabled or reset asserted when cpu touches disabled h/w
<m4t>
CONFIG_PANIC_TIMEOUT=-1
<m4t>
but it's not rebooting
<digetx>
hdmi video output works on t20 using the latest grate-kernel, so probably not related to drm driver
<digetx>
maybe related to tegra-hda? you could try to disable the driver in kernel config
<digetx>
or blacklist kernel module, if it's module
<m4t>
isn't that needed for sound though?
<m4t>
i'll rebuild later and see if it boots
<m4t>
working now
<m4t>
at "work", rather
<digetx>
it's needed for sound, if there won't be freezing without it, then it's the culprit
<digetx>
also please try grate-kernel
<digetx>
mainline doesn't have memory bw management needed for display and it may hog bw when hdmi starts to display
<m4t>
it is grate
<digetx>
ok

m4t: we should also check the pcc2 thermal interrupt once again since I'm working on fixing lm90 driver now, maybe the temperature limit wasn't set properly and that's why it was non-stopping
<m4t>
so you think cc2 is correct after all?
<digetx>
I'm not sure now
