Guest16 I, as a crude test, added an additional binding for foot into the .config/river/init = riverctl map normal Super+Shift T spawn foot
<coreopen>
in my env the binding you noted works and now the Super+Shift T also does; thought here: add a specific binding (in line with your others) and verfiy the terminal spawns

<viscous24>
hello all,
<viscous24>
I'm new to wm in general, I recently started using wm on wayland and first thing I tried was Hyprland, i did some ricing and now all looks and functions as I want, but I think wm should be simple and do it fast
<viscous24>
I'm interested to try river
<viscous24>
I have two monitors I would like to switch and move windows via keybinds
<viscous24>
also using tiles and tabs/stacks via hypr-i3 plugin
<viscous24>
can I do same things on river
<viscous24>
what's main similarities and diff?
<ifreund>
viscous24: if you want i3-style window management I'd suggest sway over river
<ifreund>
river doesn't do tabs or manual tiling, it only supports dynamic tiling currently
<viscous24>
ifreund: I never used i3 before so not sure what that mean, I'm pretty new so, I'm open to try different ways to handle wm
<ifreund>
ah, yeah than just try things and see what you enjoy if you're still figuring out what you want
<ifreund>
I mentioned i3 because you mentioned the hyper-i3 pluging which I assume implements i3-style window management
<Guest93>
I have a dude, how do you start waybar and mako and others at the start of riverwm??

A couple of friends of mine have stated that is supposidly bspwm on wayland? However, what percentage of bspwm within this project? I just want a bspwm clone for wayland. If such doesn't exist, X I will stay.
<leon-p>
that myth started because our config is also a script
<leon-p>
I wonder how many people "trying to understand tags" would immediately understand them if they just tried it instead of endlessly reading docs waiting for enlightenment
<leon-p>
also kinda confused at the amount of people wanting to use what effectively is a niche advanced tool while either not knowing shell and/or not reading docs and/or don't try to understand the example init
