<LarstiQ> leon-p: that sounds fairly cutting edge. Though the papers have stopped since 2021?

<tiosgz> ifreund: cool, gotta recompile :)
<tiosgz> also, i've just realised how what used to be big events requiring involvement from me (not in river) has "collapsed" for me into compiling a new commit
<tiosgz> that is, thanks for the work :)
<ifreund> ah, you mean before switching to river? You're very welcome :)

<Guest6> yesterday I asked about an issue with compiling river because my distro patches wlroots to be version. I was told that I had to patch build.zig so pkgconf would look for wlroots-0.17, but still haven't figured out where I should do this, any help would be apreciated

<ifreund> Guest6: you'd need to patch the 2 linkSystemLibrary("wlroots"... instances to use wlroots-0.17 instead
<ifreund> note that river's master branch now supports wlroots 0.18 though, which shouldn't have this issue
<ifreund> if your distro packages 0.18 you could use that instead
<Guest6> Thank you! I feel more comfortable using stable releases, so I'll stick with that
<ifreund> Guest6: no problem! you might want to report this issue on the AUR package's page so that the maintainer can fix this there :)
<ifreund> wait, did I just assume you were using arch with no basis? Nevermind
