for multihead is there a way to reorder outputs? and query the output titles?
<leon-p>
opal: wlr-randr (manually), kanshi (automaticaly based on config)
<opal>
ah thanks
<opal>
kanshi supports hotplugging, nice
<opal>
river itself seems to be really nice after whatever runtime issue was fixed a while ago, thats what initially prevented me from going back to wayland after i ditched i3/sway. gonna be a lot of setup for other utilities (and likely writing new ones for where there arent good wl answers) before i move away from x though
<leon-p>
opal: please let us know for which x utils you don't have a wayland replacement yet
<leon-p>
I find most things can be easiely replaced by duct taping protocols together or writing a few hundred lines of C boilerplate
<opal>
that would have to involve me publicly shaming someone for not minding their diffstats and i dont think you want to see that side of me in here

<opal>
it was bad, trying to even patch that monstrosity
<leon-p>
is it replaceable?

by something i write, sure, shouldnt be that hard and may even involve code reuse

Hi, would someone describe main differences with sway pls ?
<eoli3n>
all #sway and #voidlinux people are here :)
hryx has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
<leon-p>
eoli3n: main difference is arguably that sway tiles by having a window tree the user manipulates directly, while river having a list of windows with an external program assigning a layout to that

hm is there any ressource to discover how river works ? i can only find github, no website ?
<eoli3n>
