<buZz>
i'm sure it'll be appreciated greatly if/when merged
<buZz>
i use 'admesh' for model dimensions :)
<buZz>
but just on the resulting .stl
<Scopeuk>
yeh similar for that tool

shame the windows builds fell over
<Scopeuk>
I'm guessing its either extra support lib or compiler support of some contrstuct
<Scopeuk>
the error it is throwing looks like it failed to work out something was a function
<J23k83>
thanks .. nice feature
<J23k83>
would be great if you can select an axis for orthogonal distance
<buZz>
oh yeah, nice
<guso78k>
there is a "catch" radius which is dependant on the zooming factor
<guso78k>
J23k83 what would be the applications of ortoginal distance ?
<guso78k>
I could output the catched point position and you would know distance to XY, XZ and ZY plane ....
<Scopeuk>
guso78k when I have done it it might be that I want the "length" of something which is for instance triangular in profile
<Scopeuk>
so instead of trying to find the mid point of the base and then tip, I would lock to x axis and just select something on the base and the tip
<guso78k>
ahh, you want to limit the selectable points to x=0 coordinate e.g. ?
<Scopeuk>
so rather than vector length is is length of element of the vector
<guso78k>
ahh got it, you want caliper like measurements, will thank about how to do that best
<guso78k>
s/thank/think/
<J23k83>
guso78k point coordinate output would be great too
<guso78k>
yep noted.
<guso78k>
and the good thing is, its even possible to implement (almost) same functionality for Preview Mode(F5), too, just right now my GL Depth buffer readings always return 0 ...

teepee: I assume OBS is short for obtrusive?
<teepee>
why?
<InPhase>
Because they seem to be some obtrusive notifications...
<teepee>
well, it's one mail per build fail and I did not check if it's possible to disable, so not directly their fault :)

<teepee>
no worries, fair question
<teepee>
I'm trying not to think about scadvent, still need to prepare christmas gifts which will involve getting a PCB produced this year :)
<peepsalot>
i feel like its not said enough, but i really appreciate all the work you do for the project <3
<teepee>
thanks, but every bit helps, it's nice to see quite a number of people chipping in
<teepee>
it's not just the code after all. although I wish I had some time to do that :)
<teepee>
like Michael did a huge amount of work with emwd behind the scenes to get the mailing list working for everyone again
<peepsalot>
true, thats something i guess many, myself included, often take for granted. out of sight, out of mind
<teepee>
yep, people often just see the code but things like having a couple of people replying to github issues and such is so important. at least for me it's great to know someone might answer too
