<PaulFertser> borneoa___: hi! Did you change your mind about releasing 0.12.1 service release for libgpiod issue? I didn't see anybody actually complaining about lack of it on mailing list or elsewhere, probably the maintainers do not really need it? Or did you talk to some people about it?

<borneoa___> PaulFertser: there is ticket 306, and few messages around it but no real complain from distro maintainers. But the author of 8185 is a maintainer. I haven't checked how many distro have ever enabled the dependency, but I suspect they are simply disabling libgpiod from the build.
<PaulFertser> borneoa___: I can do what you think is the best, just tell :)
<borneoa___> PaulFertser: now that the fix in merged, this could already suggest maintainers to cherry-pick it. v0.12.1 is not mandatory.
<PaulFertser> borneoa___: this happened in the past, I saw e.g. Debian picking fixes like that without complaining, so probably that's OK.
<borneoa___> PaulFertser: yes, it happened already. I would say, decide based on your time availability and on eventual incoming complains
<PaulFertser> borneoa___: I have enough time, just thinking about doing something unnecessary might result in more mess/problems due to unforeseen reasons.
<borneoa___> PaulFertser: v0.13 is still far away. We can push to speed it up, but will take time. I think v0.12.1 is useful, but I don't see it as urgent
<PaulFertser> borneoa___: OK. I'm not able to properly follow the developments so have to count on your judgement or on complaints on the mailing list and here.
