Ok sorry about that. I cant use pastebin at work, it's blocked unfortunately so will need to do it later on at home.

I know I powered it on a ton of times while hitting the command and it didn't work a lot of the times and sometimes I got to this point, but it never let me get into "debug mode"

I can check the connections again I guess but I followed the openwrt instructions to a T and physically soldered in the pinouts. What makes you think it's a ground issue? I'm new to this so I want to understand it better.

If you start OpenOCD at the right moment it should be able to _halt_ the target.

And it'll print information about it halted.

Yeah I mean I was able to telnet into the MR18 and dump the help output from it, but couldn't issue halt.

Then either connection is bad somehow or you're starting openocd at the wrong moment.
