<marcusmae> Hello, everyone! JTAG n00b here. USB blaster device and Ubuntu 22.04. When I plug it, lsusb shows: "0403:6014 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT232H Single HS USB-UART/FIFO IC". When I unplug the dongle and plug it back: does not get detected anymore. Tried two different miniusb cables, same: first time connects, but not anymore. Buggy usb stack in Linux?

<karlp> is it plugged into something else at the same time? and your ejust unplugging/replugging the usb side?
<karlp> my guess would be something on your target is powering things you don't eexpect, or in a manner you don't, and so the usb replug doesn't resync it,
<marcusmae> hi @karlp
<marcusmae> The power to the dongle comes from the laptop only
<marcusmae> I came up with an idea that my dongle was bricked in a hard way
<marcusmae> Somebody told me FTDI resets pid to 0 for non-genuine chips. But this is not my case: I cannot see any device identification in libusb at all. Other USB devices are getting connected normally.
<marcusmae> *lsusb
