Kwiboo: ROCK 5A and 5C can use same u-boot bin
<naoki>
Kwiboo: ROCK 5B+ and 5T can use same u-boot bin too. about 5B... it seems BOARD ID pin(saradc_vin5) is not connected anywhere ;)

usb_host2_xhci: usb@fcd00000 is unusable on u-boot
<naoki>
scanning bus usb@fcd00000 for devices... cannot reset port 2!?
<naoki>
I thought linux commit fbcbffbac994 ("phy: rockchip: naneng-combphy: fix phy reset") fixes this problem, but it doesn't fix this problem :(
<naoki>
(btw I guess fbcbffbac994 should be applied on u-boot too)

naoki: usb is known to be semi-working in u-boot, for rk3588 I think I have only had it working first attempt, after a "usb stop" and "usb start" or "usb reset" cycle it may or may not be working and a full reset of soc could be needed

<Kwiboo>
so I only ever test one time, then do a "reset" and test another port when I have done boot testing
<Kwiboo>
some boards/socs do handle it better than others
<naoki>
Kwiboo: usb_host0_xhci port, yes, I got reset error at 2nd reset, but it works well if it resets only once(just start)
<naoki>
but usb_host2_xhci doesn't work at first start
<qschulz>
naoki: are you sure it doesn't work? If I remember correctly I often get those messages but it still works soimehow
<naoki>
qschulz: at least USB3 storage doesn't work (u-boot cannot find storage device)
<naoki>
if I inserted UBS2 hub between on-board port and USB3 storage, it works
<qschulz>
naoki: I can check in an hour or so, we also have this USB controller enabled on RK3588 Tiger + Haikou so I can check on it
<qschulz>
naoki: just ping me in an hour :)

I'm seeing "deferred probe timeout, ignoring dependency" on all PCIe devices on RK3588 (Orange Pi 5 Plus) on v6.13 next-20241203
<wens>
anyone else see that? it's causing a delay in when my NVMe and ethernet ports appear, and causing fsck to fail
