<marc|gonzalez> Heya narmstrong: dunno if you've followed the TI TDP158 driver errr... saga/drama, but it seems none of the drivers/gpu/drm/bridge maintainers have expressed their point of view. Only Maxime has participated, and he's not being the most receptive to this trivial driver...
<marc|gonzalez> So again, I'm wondering about the actual process. Should I just say "forget it", drop the driver and support the function with a hack in my forked tree? That seems a bit counter-productive now that the work has been done (several times, I might add)

<rockosov> mkorpershoek: Hello! I've got the answer from Simon Glass, he suggest to move ab_select and new command '
<rockosov> new command 'ab_dump' to abootimg subcommands
<mkorpershoek> i've seen that. I disagree with him
<mkorpershoek> I will answer tomorrow :)
<mkorpershoek> (usually I do my upstream work on tuesdays/thursdays)
<rockosov> Okay, I will wait your opinion. That's why asking you now :)
<rockosov> I don't think it's worse idea, but you have more experience here, so
<mkorpershoek> to me, even if both are related, they don't serve the same purpose
<mkorpershoek> ab_select only reads from BCB, whereas abootimg is for parsing android boot images, vendor boot images
<mkorpershoek> anyways, I'll think a bit more about it and reply tomorrow
