<phh>
the work-in-progress device tree for the device I mentioned on monday uses uart_ao_a_c pins config to mux uart over microsd, but has microsd commented out. the plan is to push it to mainline with uart_ao_a_pins config + microsd enabled. though the uart over microsd is super useful (I do all my dev without ever opening the device's casing). got anything to say with that? I would be interested in looking at how to implement that feature properly, but I don't
<phh>
really see how. (as i understand it, the way to do it is to read some bootloader-set register, and switch microsd to 1pin mux instead of 4pins)
<narmstrong>
yeah the way to do it properly is to alter the dt from bootloader
<narmstrong>
so the dt in linux source should have the nominal hardware setup, with sdcard and uart_C disabled, and bootloader should do the switch
<narmstrong>
we could probably make it generic to enable sdcard uart for all boards
<phh>
well the question that goes with making it generic is whether to re-do the probe like bl (bl2?) does on devices that support it, to support this feature even on devices with this disabled in bootloader
<narmstrong>
it's a good question, first let make it happen on devices with the feature enabled!

ProtonMail will still be used, but I'll mainly use the postmarketos.org email address for this sort of thing now.
