<xdarklight> maybe precision is the reason for the "Amlogic S4" patch to the serial driver (because newer versions of the IP can use divide-by-2 and divide-by-1 in addition to divide-by-3)? this is supported from G12A onwards I believe (older versions only support divide-by-3)
