the `[ 10.841663] Bluetooth: hci0: Failed to read codec capabilities (-56)` seems to be a new thing in 5.16
<chewitt>
I see the same with Broadcom modules so it's nothing specific to QCA

chewitt: I'm still using the qcacld-2.0 branch and it works ok (not ath10k)
<gbisson>
chewitt: but I wasn't aware of that "qcom,qca9377-bt" compatible
<gbisson>
chewitt: what I use usually is hciattach to init/load fw to a standard tty devnode, that's where I get the lock
<gbisson>
chewitt: so I'll try that approach and report back, thanks!
<gbisson>
chewitt: as for the credit size issue in ath10k, problem might be in the FW, the problem is that ath10k is based on the old LEH-4.2.2.2 fw which hasn't been updated in 4 years, the LEA-3.1 is much more mature, it fixes many problems for us

chewitt: unfortunately I confirm that using the hci_qca driver doesn't help, board doesn't boot as I get the rcu stall at bootup
<gbisson>
I'll make sure my pin isn't used/muxed by something else as I use GPIOX_19
<gbisson>
narmstrong: what is missing for the MIPI-DSI to get in upstream? I ported your patches from vim3-mipi-dsi and confirm it works ok
<narmstrong>
gbisson: the architecture of the glue is wrong, encoder and bridge should be separated
<gbisson>
narmstrong: ok, thanks for the update!
<gbisson>
narmstrong: let me know if you need someone to look into it, I can't promise anything but this feature definitely is interesting to us
<chewitt>

today the support is wrote around AXG, but in fact AXG should be a variant, so I should rework it first
<narmstrong>
notable clock handling, currently we use the same clock for pixel and dsi, we should use separate one and proper code arch should be much easier
