<sopparus> how do I use the clean script for rpi4 kernel?
LEBot has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
LEBot has joined #libreelec
<sopparus> finally
<sopparus> i can see wlan1 atleast
<sopparus> or, I can ifconfig wlan1 up
<sopparus> will this be done automaticly if i disable rpi built in wifi?
<sopparus> yes it worked then
<sopparus> chewitt: is it possible to add this now that it works? before le12 is released ?
<sopparus> nice performance, 530mbit iperf
<sopparus> i dont have wifi6 on my ap too
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> is it just the three CONFIG_MT* options listed above? ^
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> how about sending a pull request? :)

<sopparus> i just altered one line in the kernel file eventually
<sopparus> if I do pr must I change config for every arch or is it there some a more convinient way?
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> CONFIG items are always uppercase so perhaps the initial defconfig change didn’t include the modules
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> at the moment NIC options aren’t controlled through distributions/LibreELEC/kernel_options so each project/device defconfig needs to be changed
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> but they can be combined into a single commit
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> kernel-firmware.dat files also need changing to pick the required .bin files
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> also, if the firmware in the upstream kernel-firmware repo doesn’t work, this should be reported to linux-wireless
<sopparus> so each projekt has its own firmware.dat as well?
<sopparus> ok, I can mail linux-wireless
LEBot has quit [Remote host closed the connection]

<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> most projects have a firmware.dat file
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> use “git grep” to find them
Fenster has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<sopparus> but what about the firmware then?
<sopparus> should I add those I use now?

<sopparus> where do I put the actual firmware files? or links?
<sopparus> LE seems to have mt7610u.bin
<sopparus> but cant find it in the wlan-firmware repo
<sopparus> then i dont really know what to do since they are broke

<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> it’ll be a multi-step process
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> send a PR to enable the modules in projects/devices
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> send emails to linux-wireless to start the process of getting the firmware fixed
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> once firmware is fixed, update the kernel-firmware.dat files to pick the fixed firmware
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> until then you’re the single user who wants to use the chip, and you can use the /storage/.config/firmware/mediatek override
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> this foss development stuff is easy 😄
<sopparus> hehe
<sopparus> send mail to linux-wireless
<sopparus> ill do pr for config files then
<sopparus> i've sent
<sopparus> it should say
<sopparus> hey, there are two other guys in the forum as well :)
<sopparus> thanks for the help btw

<zsw> Our main TV has stopped working. I setup a share TV. When I boot up the rpi4, libreelec stops just before kodi loads -- https://ibb.co/0CjQgQs
<colo> what did you do between now and the last time it worked OK? can you ssh into the host and poke around with systemctl and journalctl?
riot_dd_ has joined #libreelec
<zsw> colo: I'm not sure the rpi4+libreelec. Yep I can ssh in. The only change I made was I removed 'quite' from /flash/cmdline.txt
<zsw> *I'm not sure the rpi4+libreelec has worked on this spare TV

<colo> can you nopaste the output of `systemctl --no-pager list-units` and `journalctl --no-pager -n 200` to a pastebin?

<colo> zsw: hmm, nothing clearly jumps out imho... :/ maybe also take a look into ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log to see if anything fishy is there?
gouchi has joined #libreelec
<zsw> colo: here's the kodi.log -- http://ix.io/4M4G
<colo> I don't see how these could be good for video output:
<colo> 2023-02-16 13:11:11.980 T:987 error <general>: CWinSystemGbm::InitWindowSystem - failed to initialize Atomic DRM
<colo> 2023-02-16 13:11:12.113 T:987 error <general>: CWinSystemGbm::InitWindowSystem - failed to initialize Legacy DRM
<colo> but I am not familiar enough with kodi to know, sorry
<colo> please wait for someone with more knowledge to help you out
<colo> ah, and can you maybe share the contents of your /proc/cmdline ?
<oblikoamorrale> info <general>: Found resolution 1280x720 with 1280x720 @ 50.000000 Hz | are you sure your tv supports the 1920x1080@60D mode you're forcing in cmdline?
<zsw> oblikoamorrale: no. I checked it via xrandr on my laptop. So make that change in cmdline.txt?
<oblikoamorrale> apparently...
<oblikoamorrale> dunno if it'll help though, but worth a try
<zsw> yeah 'video=HDMI-A-1:1280x720@50' causes the TV flash between a black screen and 'No Signal'.
<oblikoamorrale> you can try removing the video= param completely
<zsw> and no output beside the gradient image right at the start of boot
<zsw> oblikoamorrale: yes
<oblikoamorrale> i have to clues about pi's but i seem to remember that some models have more than one hdmi outputs and they are not equal, i.e. it matters which hdmi output your tv is connected to
<zsw> oblikoamorrale: same, black screen alternating with 'No Signal'
<zsw> adding 'video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60D' back gets output to the screen again.
<zsw> I might have kodi set to a 4k resolution. Is there a way from the cli to check this?
<oblikoamorrale> I don't know how kodi resolution settings can relate to the problem you're having. you can try temporarily removing .kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml I guess (backing it up so you can restore it). I still think that forcing hdmi video mode to value unsupported by your tv is probably not a good idea
<zsw> I can use 1920x1080@60 with my laptop
<oblikoamorrale> k, you just said earlier that it didn't work on laptop
LEBot has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<zsw> Sorry I said I wasn't sure, but assume 1920x1080@60 would work as I saw that res in the output of xrandr. I've connected my laptop and 1920x1080@60 does work

<zsw> [ OK ] Reached target time-sync.target.
