21:52 <shibboleth> chewitt: alsa devs are unsure what causes the issue so... presumably this will remain gremlin for the time being. the first line alone takes care of dmix, the rest isn't needed/device-specic. maybe this could be added to LE faq/wiki in case someone else happens upon this particular landmine?
