<shibboleth> 9.2.8 seems to ignore anything in .config/connman_main.conf, anyone mind confirming?
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> first time I hear someone suggest that, so I’d probably want to disagree until shown proper proof

<shibboleth> well, disabling onlinecheck and rebooting does nothing, LE starts spamming the dns resolver for ipv4.connman.net immediately
<shibboleth> same even if i blackhole ipv4.connman.net in .config/hosts
<shibboleth> also, can't find a way to tell LE/connman to use a specific resolver for specific domains
<shibboleth> say you've got one iface which is the defaultroute and.... "defaultresolver" and the other interface is for internal stuff or the local providers iptv vlan. you'd want dns queries for "*.internaldomain.foo" to be forwarded to a specific resolver, not "defaultresolver"
<shibboleth> oh, and vendorstring in .config/connman_main.conf also seems to be ignored

<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> some things in connman probably assume its using the internal dns proxy, which we stopped using aeons ago due to some technical issues (minor problem) and the volume of forum posts blaming <insert problem> on “networking is broken” diagnosed by Kodi (correctly) showing 127.0.0.1 as the DNS server (the proxy)
<shibboleth> chewitt: https://paste.debian.net/hidden/cd5fabc7/ in case you were serious
<shibboleth> right.
<LEBot> [slack] <chewitt> but undoing that is a compile change, not configuration, IIRC
<shibboleth> i've also enabled connman dns proxying trying to figure out the domain-specific resolver thing

<shibboleth> you'd wanna be able to manage the device through LAN/eth0, but ideally close off ssh/etc from the providers iptv vlan

<shibboleth> sure, i can roll a dumb iptables rule, just asking if there's a way to utilize LE firewall zones

<mack> chewitt, you mentioned disabling the ipv4 check with that method on the forum in 2017 so should be fine for versions 9.x https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/10012-conman-problem/?postID=64153#post64153
<mack> ping shibboleth also ^
<shibboleth> also also: turns out i was actually using 10.0.1, not 9.2.8
<mack> I knew I had seen this conversation before, so I went looking for it :)
<shibboleth> yeah, i blackholed it as part of the bridge traffic rewrite
<shibboleth> would be swell to be able to set per-domain resolvers when using connman with dnsproxy enabled though
<shibboleth> also, connman is ignoring the vendorid string in the same config
<mack> as cheap as hardware is for handling networks with a decent networking stack, I'm happy to have LE sit on my LAN and connected to the TV doing its purpose so I don't have to futz with such things :)
<mack> the connectivity check to ipv4.connman.net only happens once on boot/networking start if the check was successful, right?
