Hi Everyone, looking for the help on GCP pub/sub integration with Jruby application. Currently its failing while installing google-cloud-pubsub gem as it unable install dependent gem GRPC. Do we have any support for GRPC with Jruby ? Or what is recommended way for this to achieve this integration?

skumarg: I have had some discussions with folks at Google about the future of GRPC on JRuby and last I heard they were looking into the possibility of moving the whole Ruby support to FFI so it could be used across runtimes. I don't know if that has moved forward at all

What you could easily do, however, is use the Java GRPC support from JRuby. It would be callable from Ruby like any other library

it may even be more efficient since it would not have to support Ruby's weirded object semantics
