Catherine: in RFC 45, what happens when one calls `ReadPort` or `WritePort` constructor directly, with `memory` not equal to `None`? should this "register" the port with the target memory in the same way as instantiating via `Memory.*_port()` would?
<Wanda[cis]>
hm, actually it has to, or it becomes a "I want a very non-obvious bug in my code" feature

the RFC doesn't specify a way to introspect the ports list of a memory; I'm adding read_ports and write_ports read-only properties that return tuples
<Wanda[cis]>
... umm I may have wrong-channeled.

<Wanda[cis]> "the RFC doesn't specify a way to..." <- also I suck at reading.
