with running fcft-2.4.5 tests I got "test.c:130:F:text-shaping:test_emoji_zwj:0: Assertion 'grapheme->count == 1' failed: grapheme->count == 2, 1 == 1" I guess it could be a font issue?

Probably was fontconfig acting up as I had messed up fonts during it

Yeah, that's the only reason I can think of; the test is expected to fail if there's no emoji font available.
