Using fish with foot under FreeBSD is, let's say an interesting experiences. I have installed the terminfo file to a location where fish finds it. (Verified viadwatch). Most things work find, only pasting from the clip board results in foot^[[201~foot being pasted and not only the clipboard content (in this case "foot"). I tried the same withbash and this resoults in the text being pasted and the highlighted. This appres to be the bracketed paste.
<xanderio>
However when i try to disable it with `printf "\e[?2004l"` it still happens.
<dnkl>
xanderio: sounds like something enabled bracketed paste each time the prompt is printed. Normally that would be the shell. But if that was the case here, you'd expect the shell to understand the escapes...
<dnkl>
I can test in fish in Linux tomorrow, but don't have access to a FreeBSD machine :/
<ericonr>
xanderio: can you share an exact paste?
<ericonr>
I do paste things into fish all the time and have never had issue
<ericonr>
and that includes fish built with ncurses and netbsd-curses
<xanderio>
Apperently fish does not support bracketed paste, the funny thing is after updating to the latest HEAD of fish. It works, for now at least
<dnkl>
xanderio: let us know if it stops working again :)
<xanderio>
Just saw the OSI to send a notification, that's awesome! Thanks for all the work on this awesome terminal
<dnkl>
xanderio: you're welcome :)

is there a way to make foot transparent?

<alice>
if your wayland compositor supports it you can make the window transparent pretty sure
<alice>
in the compositor settings
<alice>
unrelated to foot itself
<will>
I don't want to make every window transparent though(I'm using sway)
<alice>
but i could be wrong :)
<alice>
sway can't make anything transparent
<alice>
and it wouldn't be every window
<will>
opaticy might be a better way to describe it
<will>
opacity*
<alice>
actually, i am wrong
<alice>
for_window [app_id="^foot$"] opacity 0.8
<alice>
try that
<alice>
i was confusing some old blur issue with opacity
<will>
perfect, it works
<alice>
great
