<davidlt[m]> Oleg Girko: yes, once there is enough stuff upstreamed or/and posted for a review and things look good enough.
<davidlt[m]> StarFive Tech has been posting various drivers needed for JH7110. So that's great. There is probably enough stuff there already expect PCIe support.
<davidlt[m]> But it's too early to pull those in.
<davidlt[m]> There are no U-Boot patches posted yet, but IIRC they are working on it.
<davidlt[m]> If they keep going like that there will be support for Vision Five 2 and Star64 sooner than later.
<davidlt[m]> Yesterday they posted "[PATCH v1 0/3] StarFive's SDIO/eMMC driver support" for a review too.
<davidlt[m]> They also sent out watchdog driver too.
<davidlt[m]> They actually sent more stuff than I expected, which is great.
<davidlt[m]> They even posted crypto engine patches.

<rwmjones> davidlt[m]: I think you found the answer, but yes it'll use $TMPDIR, provided you pass that variable (sudo -E may help)
<davidlt[m]> Yeah, well the best is to create udev rule that doesn't require sudo to be used :)
