<farkuhar> ukky: thanks for the report. I incorporated your suggestions into a revised sync function http://sprunge.us/UC2xzC
<farkuhar> not sure I agree with the idea of respecting installRoot, though. The ports drivers aren't being called in a chroot, so you'd somehow have to make them aware of their mountpoint in order to sync the intended repos.

<ppetrov^> hmm... somehow oldfiles does not seem to report, emm.. oldfiles

<ppetrov^> I figured it out. If you have "useregex yes" in /etc/prt-get.conf, then oldfiles does not work
<ppetrov^> the full path of my packages is /pkgwrk/packages/

<farkuhar> ppetrov^: interesting bug you've discovered. I never suspected that 'prt-get printf' would be affected by "useregex yes", and apparently the authors of oldfiles also did not anticipate any effect. Thanks for giving me another reason to dig into the prt-get source code today.
<ppetrov^> you're a hero, farkuhar
<ppetrov^> :)
<farkuhar> I'm finding that the command-line flag --regex doesn't seem to trigger this bug, it only happens with "useregex yes" in prt-get.conf. I'm not surprised that it took so long to discover this bug; not many users activate regex search by default.
<ppetrov^> i never did before
<ppetrov^> just decided to see if it will make things easier
<ppetrov^> it did

<jue> zorz: prt-get depinst mariadb; mariadb-install-db --user=mysql --group=mysql; /etc/rc.d/mariadb start
<zorz> jue: thx, what i did was mariadb-install-db --user=mysql --basedir=/usr --datadir=/var/lib/mysql
<zorz> and i add manually myuser in the group mysql.
<zorz> but like this i can from the database but i dont have privilegde to create database
<zorz> jue: so i think i should do mariadb-uninstall-db and use your method instead.
<jue> don't think so, default for datadir is /var/lib/mysql
<zorz> jue: let me play with it...talk to u hopefully not soon :-)
<jue> ok ;)
<zorz> jue: so far i liked this command: sqlite3 your_database.db .dump > dump.sql
<farkuhar> ppetrov^: part of this patch is my hasty attempt at fixing the printf subroutine for your situation. https://git.crux.nu:82/farkuhar/prt-get/commit/2ec067cddbd34e44e3684232258d550ba7124998
<farkuhar> the rest of the patch gives a tidier initialization of the optional dependencies string; you can ignore that part if you're not using my softdeps fork.
<ppetrov^> thanks, farkuhar
