Hello! Possible, sure, but I doubt documented... I don't know that anyone has made a concerted effort to do so

zephyr: someone once installed pkgutils on Debian Etch to manage their custom builds under $HOME, as seen here https://lists.crux.nu/pipermail/crux/2007-August/001306.html So it can be done, but the only "documentation" you're likely to find is an old mailing list thread that stops after the library version mismatches are resolved.
