does anyone have experience running steam on crux? Its constantly timing out and almost impossible to login to
<dusk_>

dusk_: i was confusing make-ca with tiny-ca :)
<dusk_>
ah
<dusk_>
I'm starting to wonder if steam needs networkmanager to work properly
<dusk_>
wouldn't surprise me
<pedja>
it's not in its requires/recommends on openSUSE, fwiw :)
<dusk_>
yeah I have no idea, I have all the dependencies installed the port pulled in, it just cant connect to the steam servers. I only question that because one of this many deps pulled in networkmanager
<pedja>
tcpdump/wireshark to see what's it doing?

can't see why would NM be an issue, if you otherwise have a working net connection.
<pedja>
here, steam is using a patched version of openssl-1.0.2p, because of how special of a snowflake it is :)
<elderK>
Out of curiosity, how do you guys determine the dependencies of a package you're building? Say, if they don't have a nice README that mentions it?
<elderK>
Do you build all packages in a minimal Crux environment and add what you need as necessary?
<elderK>
Do you look through the makefiles and stuff?
