farkuhar: the change seems ok to me, though to be fair I don't use syslinux much
<farkuhar>
jaeger: when you said on 21 July that you "use grub everywhere, bios and uefi", I took the liberty of arranging the handbook to prioritize GRUB (relegating syslinux to the appendix), despite grub being "the bane of people who want to DIY it all" according to braewoods.
<beerman>
farkuhar: do you keep a quote book?
<farkuhar>
I don't fully understand all the hate for GRUB, but if a consensus emerges that syslinux should be introduced first, the two sections can easily switch places.
<farkuhar>
beerman: no, your whitequark logger bot does that for me.
<beerman>
mine?
<beerman>
i don't own it
<beerman>
i am fine with grub as well, because it just works with whatever os i throw at it
<farkuhar>
i guess i associated it with you because nobody else was doing the legwork to set up a logger bot, after the transition away from freenode.
<beerman>
i guess as well

farkuhar: well that was more a commentary on how hard it is to manually configure more than anything else

It has a learning curve, certainly, but maybe the haters don't realize you don't always need to manually configure?
<jaeger>
As far as the handbook prioritizing one or the other, I don't think we should necessarily do that, just offer both options equally
