beerman: I don't see anything wrong with it but I probably wouldn't since I haven't tried it :)
<

spoiler alert: there is nothing wrong with it, however its a change and i want you to have the opportunity to give it a spin
<

in case there is something obscure happening on other platforms etc etc

I wonder if there are any challenges with wayland and optimus/primus setups
<
beerman>
nvidia is your challenge ;9
<
beerman>
but there is works on getting their driver stack more compatible to what wayland requires
<
beerman>
intel and amd users will have more fun, the last i know is nvidia users should stick with noveau for that
<
beerman>
as i understood it, James Jones is one of the people that work on the graphic stack drivers for nvidia

"Anecdotally, Sway currently runs fine on our GBM path out of the box."
<
beerman>
if you have a rpi4 to spare, this can run wayland pretty well, haven't found a flaw yet

export CC="sccache /usr/bin/gcc" CXX="sccache /usr/bin/g++" seems to make it work on most things
<
beerman>
just make sure you don't have ccache or distcc active as well
