<pitillo> beerman: thanks! that script is very interesting... I'd like to test it in my main desktop to check its health
<beerman> makes sense everywhere CRUX and where gcc was updated
<beerman> you are very welcome
<pitillo> and more when I don't remember when that CRUX installation was done... 2012 or may be after xD
<pitillo> s/after/before....
<beerman> heh, yeah, I had an ancient one that I finally redid a few weeks ago :D
<r0ni> i've been afk, catching up, but i'm always willing to build on my m1 (and I do, actually) so if anything needs fast builds, i'll happily test (though I've been managing my own ports cuz arm64 is so far behind, but i'm running multiple installs and tests with up to date core ports
<r0ni> oh and as far as asahi, sound works on mac mini m1, with the internal speaker. mesa works for anything i'd use it for (you need to build a diff tree), need to build their specific kernel, and uhh libunwind needs a patch and that's basically all that needed for an asahi system outside of the m1n1 bootloader which chains into grub... I need to re-install mine some day but I hardly ever boot it as losing macos kills my productivity
<r0ni> i've been meaning to convert my slackware asahi install to crux, i'm just busy with 10,000 other things. Want to get some basic scripts up some day
<r0ni> on my next day off work, i'll install their new fedora remix thing to see whats up and steal the kernel so i can get crux up on it since it's their own branch mostly, and see how much has changed... but it should be pretty straightforward of a "port"
<beerman> r0ni sounds like a plan :D
<beerman> here, rust is almost finished and ready for a pull request

<pitillo> beerman: :_(
<beerman> xD oh well
<r0ni> gst-plugins-bad is failing on libgstopenal.so not existing... i removed pkg and re-built new and same... no time to diagnose now but force pkgadd'd the resulting pkg, good enough for me. numerous others are not updating, likely more footprint differences. I'll take a look tomorrow and figure out why, must go to work :(
<beerman> r0ni do you run without PKGMK_IGNORE_NEW="yes" by any chance?
<r0ni> yes actually, that file is in the footprint so it fails regardless since it isn't there when built
<beerman> what exactly is the footprint mismatch you are seeing?
<r0ni> MISSING /usr/lib/gstreamer-1.0/libgstopenal.so
<r0ni> wait not that one fml lol
<r0ni> libgstqsv.so
<r0ni> qt something maybe?
<r0ni> i'm not sure, but i really don't have time to diagnose currently, i'll return in... 14 or so hrs... lol
<beerman> not exactly sure, the port underwent a few changes in the past weeks so it might make sense to check if all dependencies are up to date and installed according to the depends on line
<beerman> it might need an overlay for arm, but not sure. i am just happy that rust finally is about to finish :D the second time. these are the occasion the speed limit stings a bit
