<blathijs> zmatt: I'm using the included BB-SPIDEV0-00A0.dtbo overlay, which uses compatible = rohm,dh2228fv insteadf of compatible = spidev, because indeed, AFAIK mainline linux does not want generic compatible strings, so everybody abuses this specific device compatible string to get a spidev. And indeed, I think rpi kernels do add the generic compatible string, possible bbb kernels too (IIRC there is also
