<Guest66> looking for a routine to program I2C bus for 4 channel relay board and how to install driver
<zmatt> what board? or what i2c chip does it use?
<zmatt> Guest66: what relay board?
<set_> Hello!
<set_> @zmatt: I appreciate you. No offense and nothing weird here but thank you for teaching me things.
<set_> I see you guys are chatting. So, I will stop interrupting.

<set_> Oh neat...ultraLibrarian has partnered w/ TI for CAD stuff. Now, I can finally make another thing!
<zmatt> if by "conversation" you mean someone coming in, asking a question, and then leaving without providing any further details :P
<set_> Ha.
<zmatt> anyway, zZzZ (or trying to)
<set_> Okay. Later for now!

<Guest73> is there a "tutorial" or some documentation, how to make an engine go on/off with rasberry pi?
<outrageous> Guest73: Like an internal combustion engine in a vehicle?
<Guest73> i was thinking more of a brushless engine
<outrageous> An electric motor?
<Guest73> yes, sir
<Guest73> it would be for a winch on a drone
<outrageous> I don't have experience with it, but I think you will need a controller in between the motor and the RPi
<outrageous> The RPi sends PWM signals to the motor controller, and the controller will drive the motor.
<Guest73> General-purpose input/output?
<outrageous> Guest73: https://www.instructables.com/Driving-an-ESCBrushless-Motor-Using-Raspberry-Pi/ <-- a tutorial of some sort. I don't know how good it is or not, but it may give you some hints.
<outrageous> Guest73: I don't know much about the RPi as I mainly dabble with Beaglebones, so I'm not sure which pins you use for sending out PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals.
<Guest73> allright, i'll look into it.. arrigato :)
<outrageous> Guest73: Good luck :)

<outrageous> Must have been using very obscure search terms on the web to arrive here :P ...I suspect their english vocabulary wasn't geared up for finding what they were looking for.

<zmatt> hey it's still better than the person asking about serial communication where it took a page or two of chat to uncover that they were really asking for help getting their custom kernel driver (a simplified serial driver based on an online tutorial) to work, which was apparently some kind of school project :P
