[Discord] <efectn> Do you have an uart debugger like ch340
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> No sadly, just the board itself
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> I think the issue is the MTD
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> And now that I can't even get into bookworm
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> I dont know how I'm going to wipe it
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> about that... im on windows and the uh, ddr blobs are preventing me from doing that using rockchips offical tools :/
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> it looks like jaybirds method would work but i currently have no limux installs on me right now :/
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> welcome to the broken promise of cheap arm devices
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> :/ whelp shite, looks like ill get an x86 board next time
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> wasted 2 days on this to get something working, realize no out of the box hardware acceleration thanks to blobs, try to swap to the OS that supports those blobs only to brick that system :/ thanks arm and orangepi, very cool

[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> im glad there is a community for this though, i can only imagine the pain people trying to get andriod images working are going through
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> thanks for your help
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> i really appriciate it
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> i think ill come back and try again later
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> it's fun making the boards work, just not fun when you're in a hurry for the outcome unfortunately
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> good luck
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> Yeah :/ was gonna get this set up as a work PC for some IOT things
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> Its weird, getting Termux set up with a Wayland session and VirGL pseudo-hardware acceleration was somehow easier than this
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> The board itself while it worked was fun though
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <jake_bones_smt> The RK3588 was like the most powerful (obtainable) arm based SoC on a SBC you could get for awhile right? Maybe it still is but things have probably moved on
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> RK3588 is still the flagship cheap soc.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <amazingfate> mtk and qcom soc are expensive and lack of driver/documents

[Discord] <zeeto9> How is 6.10 going for those trying it? I see they released it with mali g610 support for rk3588. Gpu hwa working correctly?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <efectn> It already works properly on Armbian
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> We could bump edge from rc to stable now
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <zeeto9> Looking through the github repo, I found the 6.10 config, board configs, but if I wanted to look into a specific driver version, in this case the rk3588 npu, where would I find that in the repo?

<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <zeeto9> Edit: nevermind. It’s well organized and explained. 😅 thanks for all the dedicated hard work that has gone into it.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <zeeto9> After looking through the entire repository, and going through the menu system for the build and going through just about every area, I see most of everything I am looking for from vpu, v4l2, ffmpeg, other various media acceleration, but I still don’t see anything referencing the npu for the rk3588. Am I not looking in the correct place or is this something not included?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <zeeto9> First compile is running, so I’ll double check the image to see if it was included. Just about everything standard works great for me, but including or being able to bump it to a newer version is one area I would like be able to.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <zeeto9> I am also reading through the armbian developer documention/user configurations, is this something where I would utilize: userpatches/lib.conf or adding to: PACKAGE_LIST_ADDITIONAL? Maybe I need to add a .patch for the npu?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <zeeto9> If someone could point me in the right direction I would be much appreciative.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> If it's a kernel patch file it would go in the appropriately named subfolder within userpatches
